Clinical Overview

Cathedral Home for Children is dedicated to the mental well being of our residents. Group therapy is individualized and the groups attended are determined by the treatment plan of the resident. We have Licensed Counselors on every cottage and at the Laramie Youth Crisis Center.

All residents are enrolled in cottage groups, which are held daily and generally last 45 minutes long. They are psycho-educational in format, and include such topics as:

• self-esteem
• conflict resolution
• values clarification
• criminal thinking patterns
• drug education
• sex education
• assertiveness
• anger management
• social skills

In addition to our cottage groups, we offer several other therapeutic groups based on the residents needs, which are conducted campus-wide. They include:

• Criminal Thinking
• Grief & Loss
• Chemical Dependency
• Sex Offenders
• Sexual Abuse/Survivors
• Anger Management
• (SAPE) Substance Abuse Prevention and Education
