Enrichment Programs
Founded by the Episcopalian Church, Cathedral Home maintains a strong connection with the Episcopal tradition. Bishop Bruce Caldwell is actively involved in Cathedral Home. Brenda Caldwell is the chaplain and oversees all spiritual programs on campus.
Brenda’s philosophy is to serve each child wherever they are in their beliefs. Chapel is a voluntary program and encompasses a broad and tolerant presentation of beliefs. One of the most important concepts children take away from the Spiritual Program is tolerance and acceptance of people who are different from themselves. With a tolerant look at belief systems, children discover they can learn from many different sources and they can take their personal beliefs and expand on them. This helps supplement therapy and soothes the rage and anger that many residents feel.
During chapel and other Spiritual Program events, children learn ethics and to distinguish between right and wrong. They also learn meditation and relaxation techniques which they can use in difficult times to break old behavior patterns and use new, more positive ones to move beyond their problems.
Children are encouraged to attend the church of their choice and transportation is provided to local churches.
