Emotional Expression
<Back
Emotional Expression Group is designed to help youth feel comfortable expressing themselves and their difficult emotions effectively. Discussions are facilitated about the problems the residents have had, that have created emotional distress. Group members are encouraged, not only to share with each other, but to be receptive and sensitive to the needs, fears, and emotions of others. Emotional Expression is a time for the members to reflect on each others stories and to learn to have accurate and meaningful insights to someone else’s expression. The facilitators and group members use interpretation to help make connections between thoughts, feelings and empathy; to convey genuine understanding of their own feelings to encourage emotional connectedness with others.
