Extended Families
Throughout history, parents have used all kinds of support systems outside their immediate families to help them raise their children. Today these social supports are less available, while the challenges are greater then ever. Extended Families supports families as they raise their children, using a family’s strengths and assets.
The goals of Extended Families are; to help families stay safe and together while empowering, strengthening, and supporting them. Family Workers provide in-home assistance in many areas such as; transportation, shopping, budgeting, cooking, parenting, family meetings, listening and being a sounding board, providing healthy breaks for parents, etc. Development of all goals are family driven and youth guided.
