LYCC mission

Laramie Youth Crisis Center

Mission
In times of crisis, we provide families in need with guidance, intervention, and prevention services geared toward the protection and preservation of the family.

History
In the early 1970’s, the Laramie Youth Crisis Center began as a 24-hour emergency care and shelter program for families in crisis. In 1981, the Crisis Center closed due to a loss of federal funding. Shortly thereafter, Cathedral Home for Children reopened the Crisis Center. In 1986, the Crisis Center was able to obtain grants, donations, city support, and county support to construct our present building. Community need has driven the development of further community programs.
