Spiritual Program
The Spiritual Program focuses on creating an atmosphere where residents can learn, pray, worship, play, and have fun. The Chapel is open to all residents of any denomination and participation in the spiritual program is voluntary. The program encompasses a broad and culturally sensitive presentation of spirituality which teaches residents to tolerate and accept people with different beliefs. In this way, residents discover they can learn from many different sources and expand on their personal beliefs. If residents wish, they are able to attend the church of their choice in Laramie and are provided with transportation. As a key component of our mission at Cathedral Home, the exploration and cultivation of spirituality supplements therapy and can be a tool to help soothe the many negative emotions that residents may feel.
The following is a list of topics and activities that may occur in the Spiritual Program:
- Ethics
- Discussions of right and wrong
- Meditation and relaxation techniques
- The practice of using positive behavior patterns
- Relationship building
- Discussions of faith and religion
